2/27/14: Acid-Wrapped/Spiral Guides - Black Hole Cape Cod Special Jigging Rod

26th Feb 2014

We had some anglers asking us what the "Acid-Wrapped/Spiral" is.

The Acid-Wrapped/Spiral guides are not aligned straight. The guides go under the rod (as you can see in the pictures).

Acid-Wrapped/Spiral Guides do:

*Less wobbly movement on the rod and reel while fighting - thus less stress on your wrists.

*Reduce the torque/pressure on the first two guides (from bottom) - we tested both conventional and spiral rods for Giant Tuna (up to 1,000lb size) fishing in P.E.I. Conventional rod, we found little damage on the first 2 bottom guides area, but there was no damage on the spiral version.

Left Handed anglers can also use this acid-wrapped/spiral rod no problem.

Acid-Wrapped/Spiral rods are getting popular now these days. But some people are used to fish with regular conventional rods. So, it really depends on your preference.

We have Black Hole Cape Cod Special Acid-Wrapped/Spiral Jigging Rods in: 5'4" 250g, 5'2" 350g, & 5'2" 450g.

It looks like Bluefin tunas in North Carolina are starting to show up now. We recommend 450g Cape Cod Special Jigging Rod. 350g Cape Cod Special rod can also do the job, but we still recommend 450g because you never know what size Tuna you get there.
